William 'Yam' Laranas was born on May 18, 1966 in Davao City. He's one of the few Filipino directors who have already directed a full-length feature in Hollywood, is the head of Asia’s Titanic, the first all-Filipino produced full-length documentary for the National Geographic Channel (NGC).
Yam was one of the 15 Asian producers who were given the grant in 2004, out of more than 300 filmmakers from Asia who competed for the slot. It was the first time for an all-Filipino team to acquire one.The director’s winning proposal was to make a documentary on the Doña Paz tragedy. MV Doña Paz was a passenger ship that claimed the lives of more than 4,000 passengers when it collided with an oil tanker, off the shore of Mindoro Island, just five days before Christmas in 1987.
He's known for making Suspense-Thriller-Horror Films in the Country and in the US.

Arnel Mardoquio is a storyteller and a cultural worker. Born, raised and based in Davao City, Mindanao, Philippines all his life. A two-time and a grand prize Palanca Awardee (a prestigious Philippine Literary Award-giving body, Asia's equivalent to Pulitzer's award). His stories are always inspired from his constant travel around Mindanao since his family moved to places when he was ten years old. His stories mirror the aspirations and uniqueness of the Mindanaoan people and culture.
His first film "Hunghong sa Yuta (2008)" won an award and bagged seven (7) nominations in the Gawad Urian Awards in 2009 (another prestigious award-giving body for excellence in film in the Philippines). His second featured film "Hospital Boat (2009)" bagged six (6) nominations in the Gawad Urian Awards in 2010, while his third featured film "Sheika (2010)" bagged nine (9) nominations including Best Film and Best Screenplay in the Gawad Urian Awards 2011 and won 3 awards (BEST SCREENPLAY-BEST ACTRESS-BEST EDITING) . "Sheika' also won NETPAC 2010 Best Film during the Cinemalaya 6 Film Festival 2010.
Mardoquio is trailblazing a community mobile cinema orientation in indiefilm distribution in Mindanao . He dreams of leaving a legacy in helping build an inclusive local film industry where grassroots communities are catered.

Born at the height of the war between the Philippine government and the Moro National Liberation Front in 1976, Gutierrez (Teng) Mangansakan II is a prize-winning writer and filmmaker. He is a heritage conservationist from Pagalungan, Maguindanao. A pioneering Moro filmmaker, he has produced, written and directed numerous documentary and experimental works. His debut documentary short, House Under the Crescent Moon, won the Gawad CCP para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video in 2001.
He has been a recipient of several fellowships in the Philippines, U.S. and Japan, including the prestigious University of Iowa International Writing Program in 2008. He edited Children of the Ever-Changing Moon (Anvil 2007), an anthology of essays by young Moro writers. His next book, Dreams of Bantugan’s Last Voyage, is forthcoming in 2010.
Teng Mangansakan's first featured film LIMBUNAN 2010, was the official finalist in the 6th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival 2010-New Breed Category. It was the closing film of the International Critics' Week section of the 67th Venice International Film Festival.
